Acquistion of a mining operation
A major international organisation was considering the acquisition of a mining operation on the African continent. Olton was contracted to produce a Stakeholder map which was to include key commercial, legal, political, and social relationships between all interested parties. The research identified areas of interest that crossed international boundaries and presented significant risks to our client. The acquisition was suspended in favour of a more detailed understanding of the complex relationships involved, thus protecting the client from nugatory expenditure and the risk of commercial / reputational harm. Olton has been retained for almost two years and undertaken similar work at short notice for the client.
